Destin Florida Jetties Photoshoot: A Stunning Spot for Your Next Session
If you’ve never done a photoshoot at the Destin Florida jetties, I’m just gonna say it, you’re missing out. It’s hands-down one of my favorite spots to shoot. You’ve got the clear water, the rocks, and that soft golden light in the evening that makes everything look extra dreamy.
I actually did a session here recently with the Habermen family, and it turned out so good. They wanted something that felt a little different than just the beach so we choose here. It gave us variety, some really cool backdrops, and just a little more personality than your typical beach shot.

What exactly are the jetties?
The Destin jetties are a long line of rock formations where East Pass meets the Gulf, right near Norriego Point and the HarborWalk area. They were built to help keep the pass from shifting, but they’ve kind of turned into a hidden gem for locals and photographers. You’ve got one side with calmer water from the pass (great for little kids), and the other side with bigger waves from the Gulf. It’s a short walk from the public beach access and totally worth it.
Tips for planning your Destin jetties photoshoot:
The best time to shoot here is an hour before sunset or sunruse.
Try to avoid weekends or holiday evenings if you want fewer people around
It’s a farther walk down to the rocks than your typical beach access, so if you have someone in your party that has trouble walking through sand, it may not be the best location.
Whether you’re planning a vacation session, a proposal, or just want something a little different than the standard beach photos, I can’t recommend this spot enough. It’s one of those places that really shows off the beauty of Destin without being too crowded or overdone.
